Mysore/Mysuru: Nadavidyalaya Academy of Music and Dance, Hebbal, Mysuru, presented Bharatanatyam recital on the occasion of monthly concert organised by Ganabharathi School of Music and Dance at Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar recently.
M.R. Dhanya, Shreya, Chitrashree, R. Sukrutha, B.M. Yashaswini, V. Deekshitha, Samudhyatha, Keertana, M. Sanjana & Monisha, disciples of Guru Vidushi Mithra Naveen, enthralled the huge audience with the stories of Goddess Chamundeshwari who acquired triumph over the evil Mahishasura in a kriti Sri Chamundeshwari set in raga Bilahari and Adi tala composed by the Court Poet Mysore Vasudevacharya.
Next nritya bandha was the Dharu Varnam in raga Khamach, Adi tala and composed by the yet another Court Poet of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, Muthiah Bhagavatar and finally, the enchanting thillana on Mother Bharatambika in raga desh set to Adi tala and composed by Vidu. Dwaraki Krishnaswamy.
The one-hour performance was accompanied by Vid. Naveen M.S. Andagar on vocal, Vidu. Mithra Naveen on natuvanga, Vid. Dasappa on mridanga and Yeashas N. Kashyap (disciple of Smitha Srikiran) on flute.
