Mysore/Mysuru: As part of Deepavali, Basaveshwara Kondotsava will take place at Moodalahundi near Varakodu in Varuna hobli of the taluk at 6 pm tomorrow (Oct. 26).

Prior to Kondotsava, a procession, accompanied by several folk troupes, will be taken out at 2.30 pm from Basaveshwara Temple to Moodalahundi. Later, the procession will traverse through the main lanes of the village before reaching Kondada Basaveshwara Temple at Donnekallu Betta close to the village at 5.30 pm. Thereafter, the Kondotsava will take place at 6 pm, in which thousands of people from nearby villages such as Varakodu, Badagalahundi, Kempegowdanahundi, Hosahundi, Mellahali, Unaganahalli and Vajamangala, will take part. The event will conclude with the procession culminating at Varakodu Basaveshwara Temple at 8 pm.
