Motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run case

Mysore/Mysuru: In an early morning road accident, a 55-year-old motorcyclist was killed on-the-spot when the two-wheeler he was riding was hit by an unidentified vehicle between Varuna and Chikkalli villages on Mysuru-T. Narasipur Road this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Mahadevappa of Tumbala village in T. Narasipur taluk.  Mahadevappa was coming towards Mysuru on his Hero-Honda motorcycle at about 5.30 am, when an unidentified vehicle fatally knocked him down. The vehicle reportedly sped from the spot without stopping. 

Varuna Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary.

Varuna Police, who have registered a hit-and-run case, are scrutinising the footages from CCTVs installed along Mysuru- T. Narasipur Road for tracing the vehicle which fled.
