Motorcyclist killed in mishap

Mysuru: An elderly motorcyclist was killed when the two-wheeler he was riding met with a road mishap near the junction of Valmiki-Hunsur Road.

Dore Joseph Sunandaraj (64), F&B Executive Manager at Hotel Southern Star and a resident of Hebbal, is the deceased.

Sunandaraj was on his way to work on his bullet motorcycle (KA-51 X49) at 6.45 pm on Monday, when a beggar woman suddenly came on to the road.

Sunandaraj, in a bid to avoid hitting the woman, reportedly lost control and fell down, sustaining serious injuries, he was immediately rushed to Brindavan Hospital where he breathed his last at about 6 am this morning.

He leaves behind his wife, a son and a daughter. VV Traffic Police have registered a case in this regard. Sunandaraj, who had a passion for bike expeditions, had undertaken an expedition from Delhi to Leh-Kargil, in the same bullet motorcycle in July last, it is learnt.
