Motorcyclist killed in road accident

Nanjangud: A motorcyclist was killed on the spot and another sustained serious injuries, when the bike they were travelling, was knocked down by a lorry near Muddahalli gate on Nanjangud-Gundlupet road late last night.

The deceased has been identified as Prasad (23), while the injured Pradeep, 24, was rushed to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru, where he is said to be out of danger.

Prasad and Pradeep, said to be cousins, hailed from Kotekerehundi in Gundlupet Taluk and were working for an automobile showroom in Nanjangud.

Prasad and Pradeep were returning to their village Kotekerehundi after finishing the day’s work yesterday at around 10 pm, when their two-wheeler was knocked down by the lorry, killing Prasad on the spot and seriously injuring Pradeep.

The lorry driver has gone absconding soon after the accident. The Nanjangud Traffic Police who rushed to the spot on information, seized the lorry and registered a case.
