MP appeals youths to donate blood before COVID vaccination

Mysore/Mysuru: MP Pratap Simha has appealed youths to donate blood before they get vaccinated for COVID.

In a video message, Pratap Simha said that the vaccination drive for persons aged between 18 and 45 years will formally commence in the State from May 10 and the youths should donate blood before they get vaccinated. 

Pointing out that the vaccination drive for people aged between 18 and 45 years has commenced from May 1 in eight States, he said that due to shortage of vaccines, vaccination in some States, including Karnataka will commence from May 10.

Noting that people cannot donate blood till one month after taking the vaccine, he said that in such a situation there may be shortage of blood. As such, youths should voluntarily come forward for donating blood before getting jabs, he said.
