MP launches Ujjwala Ratha, Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan

Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha flagged off a publicity vehicle (Ujjwala Ratha) on Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana this morning near Maharani’s Degree College in city. The Ujjwala scheme is to include 80 million poor families who will be given free cooking gas connections. The campaign was started by the Narendra Modi government in May 2016. Since then, over 30 million households have got access to cooking gas connections. Picture right shows the MP initiating the Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan at Maharani’s Girl’s High School. Under the Abhiyan, toilet blocks will be constructed at various government schools in and around Mysuru. As a first step, bhoomi puja was performed at Maharani’s Girl’s High School. The project is being executed by Indian Oil Corporation under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.
