MP Pratap Simha demands arrest of woman RTI activist

Posting of morphed photographs of UP CM Yogi Adityanath on social media

Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha has demanded action against an RTI activist Prabha N. Belavangala for allegedly posting objectionable pictures of UP CM Yogi Adityanath on Facebook.

Addressing press persons at his office in Jaladarshini Guest House premises, Pratap Simha, who said the photographs were morphed, demanded Chief Minister Siddharamaiah to take action against Prabha.

Stating that the woman was mentally ill, he said that Prabha had the history of making false allegations against people. “Prabha is seen with Congress leaders during events and conventions. CM Siddharamaiah is not initiating action just because she has identified herself with Congress. If the same mistake was committed by BJP or other parties, the State Government would have taken action immediately,” he said.

Pratap Simha, who is also the State Yuva Morcha President, said that the Yuva Morcha will organise State-wide protest demanding the arrest of RTI activist and added the Morcha activists will file a complaint in various Police Stations across the State demanding the arrest of Prabha. “If Police do not file an FIR, the Morcha will lodge complaints  in other States and see that the activist is arrested for posting morphed photographs of  UP CM Yogi Adiyanath,” he said.

Adding that Yogi Adityanath was a popular leader and had been unanimously elected as Chief Minister by the newly-elected 325 BJP MLAs in Uttar Pradesh, the Mysuru-Kodagu MP added that posting such morphed photographs of a popular leader was to be condemned.
