MP Pratap Simha holds meeting with Rly. officials

Mysuru: With the construction of over bridge / underbridge at the Mysuru-Nanjangud Railway gate behind Crawford Hall and near Falcon Tyres on Mysuru-Arasikere Railway line on KRS Road, lying in limbo for years, MP Pratap Simha held a meeting with the stakeholders — MCC, Railways and NHAI — at his office in Jaladarshni Guest house here this morning.

Later speaking to press persons, Pratap Simha said that the Railway Department has released Rs.8 crore for the construction of over bridge at the Railway Level-Crossing behind Crawford Hall. But it is the responsibility of the MCC to construct an approach road, he said.

Pointing out that a Rs.27 crore estimate has been prepared for the approach road, he said that once the name of the District in-Charge Minister is announced, a proposal will be submitted to the Minister in this regard.

As far as the KRS Road Level-Crossing is concerned, the MP said that the original idea was for the construction of an over bridge near Falcon Tyres. But as the idea later found to be unfeasible, it has been planned to construct an under bridge, for which the permission of the Railways is sought.

Stating that the works on the construction of the underbridge would begin once the Railways gives the green signal, Pratap Simha said that the cost of the project would be shared equally by MCC, PWD and NHAI.

MCC Deputy Commissioner G.R. Suresh, Executive Engineer Nagaraj Murthy, Railways Deputy Chief Engineer Ramesh Chandra and other officials were present.
