Second seed Karthik Pranav of Tamil Nadu and third seed S.S. Kanishka of Karnataka hogged the limelight on the concluding day of the MTC Cup AITA Talent Series Tennis Tournament for U-12 boys & girls, by emerging victorious in their respective categories here yesterday.
In the Boys U-12 singles final, second-seed Karthik came back strongly to score an upset win over top-seed and state-mate Ashwin Manigandan 6-7 (2-7), 6-0, 10-4 and clinched the title.
In the Girls U-12 singles final, third-seed S.S. Kanishka(KAR) playing a consistent baseline game outsmarted fourth seed G. Joshika (KAR) 7-6 (7-2), 6-0 and bagged the title.
The prizes to winners were given away by Chethan Vishwanth, Tournament In-charge, Mysore Tennis Club and senior player Ramesh Kumar.
