MUDA Chairman denies wrongdoings

September 30, 2024

Mysuru: Vehemently denying allegations of his own partymen that he was mainly responsible for the current situation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, against whom an FIR has been filed by the Lokayukta Police in connection with MUDA alternative sites allotment scam, MUDA Chairman and senior Congress leader K. Marigowda said that he was deeply hurt by such false allegations.

Addressing a press meet at his chamber in MUDA Office on JLB Road here this morning, Marigowda said he grew politically under the shade of Siddaramaiah for over 40 years and as such he would not do anything that would put the CM in trouble. It is the Opposition BJP which has hatched a plot against the CM to force him to quit, he argued.

“It is unfortunate that some Congressmen, who had a wrong perception about me, tried to gherao me at Mysore Airport when I went there to receive the Chief Minister. The decision to allot alternative sites as per 50:50 ratio basis to the CM’s wife was taken when the BJP Government was in power in 2020. I took charge as the MUDA Chairman on Mar. 1, 2024 following a Government order. I am the one who always believed that CM Siddaramaiah was akin to my home God. But it is very disturbing for me to hear some Congressmen blaming me for the situation that the CM is currently facing. I want to reiterate that I have not done anything wrong in MUDA that brought disgrace or discredit to the CM,” Marigowda clarified.

Highlighting the measures he had taken for stopping allotment of alternative sites on 50:50 ratio basis or as incentive sites, MUDA  Chairman Marigowda asserted that he had tried his best to stop the illegalities in MUDA.

Venting out his ire against his detractors within the Congress, the MUDA Chairman bemoaned that the District Congress President had not taken any disciplinary action against those partymen who tried to gherao him at Mysore Airport, which forced him to leave the venue under Police protection.

Reiterating his unquestionable loyalty to CM Siddaramaiah, he squarely blamed the BJP for the MUDA scam and urged the District Congress President to take immediate action against fellow partymen who humiliated him.
