MUDA Chairman on inspection spree

MUDA Chairman D. Dhruvakumar along with MUDA Commissioner Dr. M. Mahesh and other officials inspecting the Torchlight Parade Grounds in Bannimantap here this morning.

MUDA Chairman D.  Dhruvakumar today inspected M.G. Koppal, Bal Bhavan and Torchlight Parade Grounds in Bannimantpa and MUDA Choultries in the city.

Expressing disappointment over the state of Bal Bhavan,  Dhruvakumar instructed the  officials to come up with a blue print for its development on par with those in advanced countries. MUDA Chairman Dr. Mahesh and other officials accompanied the Chairman.

Later, speaking to SOM, Dhruvakumar said that he was saddened with the neglected state of Bal Bhavan.

On his plans for the development of Bal Bhavan, Dhruvakumar said the 13-acre plot will be turned into one of the most attractive tourist destination of the city by the end of this year. The Bal Bhavan will soon have a full-fledged park, he said.

Referring to Torch Light Parade Ground, the MUDA Chairman said that the seating capacity at the ground will soon be increased to 40,000. The Millennium Circle (LIC Circle) nearby too will be developed and there were plans to install a statue of the mother of Krishnaraja Wadiyar, he said.

Expressing satisfaction over the progress of MUDA’s new choultry coming up at M.G. Koppal, he said that 70 per cent of the works has been completed and the remaining works will be completed in a couple of months.

Pointing out that the MUDA is building 8 new choultries with amenities across the city, the MUDA Chairman said that the four old choultries owned by MUDA will be development to meet the present day requirements.
