Mysuru: Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Commissioner A.N. Raghunandan has recommended to the higher ups to take disciplinary action against Special Tahsildar K.V. Rajashekar, for allegedly issuing a sale deed for a residential property sans any heir and the bit of land attached to the house, but belonging to the MUDA, in a fraudulent manner.
Rajashekar is accused of illegally issuing the pauti khata (document issued in the name of the dead) for the house, prior to issuing the sale deed.
As the illegality came to light, MUDA Commissioner Raghunandan, in a letter written to the Government on Apr. 17, has recommended to take a disciplinary action against Rajashekar.
B.N. Nagendra, a RTI activist and resident of Yadavagiri, had complained to MUDA in this regard. Following the verification of documents, it came to light that a Model House bearing No. 867 and built on a site in the dimension of 30×40 at Gokulam 3rd Stage, had been allotted to one Alien Sharada Joseph on Nov. 2, 1982, by the then CITB, now MUDA and had also issued a title deed. However, following the death of Sharada on Sept. 3, 1983, the ownership of the property remained non-transferred to anybody till Apr. 6, 2024. It was later transferred to one Nevil Marcus Joseph, despite not being a legal heir, without obtaining any documents including vamsha vriksha (family tree) to facilitate the procedure of issuing a pauti khata. Along with the residential property, the bit of land belonging to MUDA had been allotted along with issuing the allotment letter in violation of rules, MUDA Commissioner has stated in the letter of recommending action against the officer.
Though the power to issue sale deed and sanctioning authority has been delegated to MUDA Secretary, Special Tahsildar Rajashekar in cahoots with Office Manager Somasundar had misused power by changing the sale deed, without bringing it to the notice of MUDA Secretary.
Office Manager Somasundar has been kept under suspension, while Rajashekar who is a Group ‘B’ officer has been recommended for a suitable action, the MUDA Commissioner said.
