MUDA presents Rs. 645 cr. Budget

Mysuru: The Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) has presented a Budget of Rs. 645.05 crore for the financial year 2018-2019. The Budget was presented at MUDA office this morning by Commissioner P.S. Kantharaju in the presence of Chairman D. Dhruvakumar and others.  

In the forthcoming financial year, MUDA expects a revenue of Rs. 323.35 crore and has estimated an expenditure of Rs. 321.7032 crore. It is a surplus budget of 1.6468 crore.

The MUDA expects revenue of Rs. 2 crore from the sale of HUDCO houses and revenue of Rs. 38 crore from the sale of 530 sites at Lalithadrinagar North Layout. It is expecting Rs. 13 crore from the sale of intermediate and corner sites at different layouts and Rs. 10 crore from the sale of independent houses.

Further, MUDA is expecting Rs. 10 crore from Civic Amenities (CA) site sale, Rs. 30 crore from new CA site sale, Rs. 5 crore from development and management fees from private layouts, Rs. 40 cr. from city development project and development fees. A revenue of Rs. 58 crore is expected from loans, advances, commercial complexes, fixed deposits and other sources.

MUDA plans to improve civic facilities, civil and electricity works at R.T. Nagar and Lalithadrinagar for it to sell sites in an improved layout. Rs. 2.69 crore has been set aside for this purpose. It aims to plant one lakh trees at Vijayanagar Fourth Stage, Lalithadrinagar, Shanthaveri Gopalagowda Nagar, R.T. Nagar and other private layouts. Rs. 1.76 crore has been reserved for this purpose.

Over 9,508 corner, intermediate sites that have remained unsold in 62 layouts formed by the City Improvement Trust Board (CITB) and MUDA will be auctioned and the unsold sites will be fenced to prevent encroachment. An exclusive register will be prepared and all the properties will be listed to prevent land sharks from occupying the land.

This apart, MUDA has proposed to develop Mariyappana Kere and the Devanoor Lake at a cost of Rs. 50 lakh. It will launch Affordable Housing Scheme for those who do not own houses. These houses will be constructed at Ramakrishnanagar E and F Block, Bogadi and Gokulam Third Stage, and Outer Ring Road near Hinkal.

New commercial complexes will come up at Dattagalli Third Stage and Vijayanagar Fourth Stage. MUDA plans to develop new layouts at Ballahalli Layout in an area of 484 acres with an estimated cost of Rs. 258 crore. In principle, approval has already been obtained from govt. Several farmers of Jayapura Hobli Kenchalagodu have expressed their desire to develop their land as MUDA sites. Approval from government will be taken to acquire land to create over 6,000 sites. Land owners will be compensated and a 50:50 ratio will be followed.
