Mysuru: The city’s 7th Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment besides imposing a fine of Rs. 20,000 after he was found guilty of murdering a construction labourer.
The man, who was sentenced, is Shivarudra, a resident of Lal Bahadur Shastri Nagar.
On June 16, 2023 at about 9.30 am, Shivarudra, who went to an under-construction building at Kakarawadi 3rd Cross in Lakshmipuram Police limits, accused labourer Ramanna of having illicit relationship with his wife and stabbed him with a knife, injuring him seriously.
Though Ramanna was admitted to K.R. Hospital, he succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
The then Lakshmipuram Inspector Mohit Sahadev, who had registered a case, conducted an investigation and had submitted a chargesheet to the Court.
Judge M. Ramesha, who took up the case, heard the arguments from both sides, found the accused guilty of the crime and sentenced him to life imprisonment under IPC Section 302 besides imposing a fine of Rs. 20,000 on Mar. 28.
