Nanjangud: The wife and son of a man who was murdered for being alcoholic and quarrelsome, have been arrested by the Nanjangud Police.
The arrested have been identified as Chikkamma (45) and her son Srinivas (23).
Sannamadashetty (51) of Hadinarumole village in Nanjangud taluk had married Chikkamma over 24 years ago and the couple had a son. But of late, Sannamadashetty had turned alcoholic and used quarrel with his family members. Enraged by his attitude, Chikkamma and Srinivas, in a fit of rage, struck Sannamadashetty with a wooden pole on the night of June 9. Due to the assault, Sannamadashetty died at the spot, following which Chikkamma and Srinivas fled from the house. But Nanjangud Rural Police succeeded in tracing them and arrested the mother-son duo.
