He was speaking after launching the Music Calendar of legendary Indian musicians, prepared by students of Government High School, under the guidance of music teacher M.V. Anitha and said all over the world research has been done on music and it is made mandatory in school syllabus but in India we have yet to do it.

World Music Day is celebrated throughout the world in big cities but I am surprised to see that government school children are celebrating it in a meaningful way, said Dr. Manjunath.

BEO Shivakumar, who was the guest of honour, said “Music Day coincides with Yoga Day. Yoga heals the body while music heals the mind. Both are two sides of the same coin.”
