Mysuru: Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust, Mysuru, has organised a Karnatak classical vocal concert by Vidu. G. Usha Somashekar at Sri Lakshminarasimhaswamy Temple, SBM Colony, Sriramapura 2nd Stage, Mysuru, on July 4 at 6 pm.
Vidu. Usha Somashekar will be accompanied by Vid. Thandavamurthy on violin, Vid. P. Nataraj on mridanga and Vid. M.R. Mohan on morching.
Artiste’s Profile
Vidu. Usha Somashekar was trained in Karnatak classical music under the guidance of eminent senior guru; vocalist and veena player; Karnataka Kalashree M.K. Saraswathi.
She is a ‘B-High’ graded artiste of Akashavani and Dooradarshan. She has performed in several prestigious sabhas across the State and has received acclaims from scholars. She has also been honoured by many classical music organisations. Usha had earlier worked as a High School music teacher.
