Music Concerts at Alwar Kala Bhavan on Nov. 9, 10

Mysuru: Sri Krishna Ganasabha, Mysuru, has organised music concerts at Alwar Kala Bhavan in Gokulam 3rd Stage in city on Nov. 9 and 10 at 6 pm.

Nov. 9: On account of 99th birth anniversary of Legendary Flautist T.R. Mahalingam, Flute Concert will be presented by Vid. C.S. Keshava Chandra accompanied by Vid. Amogh Nadadur on violin, Vid. Nandan Kashyap on mridanga and Vid. Shamith Gowda on ghata.

Nov. 10: Singing of Dasarapada by Vidwan B. Nagesh. Accompanying artistes are Vid. Satya on rythm pad and Vid. Ramesh Dannur on tabla. The programme is sponsored by Prof. Dr. Bhargava.

Vid. C.S. Keshava Chandra: Coming from a family devoted to the cultivation of classical music for generations, Vid. Keshava Chandra started his musical career as a child prodigy.

He has the privilege of undergoing rigorous training on flute and vocal from his illustrious father versatile scholarly artiste Vid. Dr. C.A. Sreedhara.

Starting from the age of 14, Vid. Keshava Chandra has presented numerous concerts in reputed platforms. He is known for his perfect adherence to “Shruthi”, sense of “Laya”, presentation of ragas with higher intensity of musical expression and aesthetic beauty. He has evolved his own unique playing style which consists of both Gayaki and Tantric styles of music. He has bagged many awards to his credit. To name a few, 1st prize in All India Radio National-level Music Competition for flute in the year 2018, gold medal along with ‘Sangeetha Shiromani’ title from ICMDA & Thyagayya TV in the year 2020, ‘Smt Champa Narayanan Award’ from Sri Rama Seva Mandali Charitable Trust, Bengaluru, in the year 2022.

Vid. Keshava Chandra is a Mechanical Engineer working for JK Tyre & Industries, Mysuru.

Vid. B. Nagesh: A devotee of Mysuru Ramakrishna Ashram, Nagesh is serving as a volunteer and is learning music under Swamy Purushothama.

He has not only performed at Ashram programmes but also across various platforms and has  won appreciation.
