Mysuru: Subhadramma Venkatappa Sangeetha Vidyalaya Trust, Bengaluru, is organising the following two music programmes in city on Aug. 23:

At Sangeetha Kalanidhi Mysore Vasudevacharya’s residence, starting at 10 am: ‘A musical tribute to the doyen’ – with individual performances by invited senior artistes and rendition of Acharya’s compositions in group by students of the Vidyalaya. The senior artistes participating are Vid. Dhanya Rashmi Ravi, Vid. Bhargavi Manjunath and Vid. Rajeshwari (Ballari).

Accompaniments are being provided by Shruta and Shambhavi on violin, Vid. Ranjani Venkatesh on mridanga and Vid. Bhagyalakshmi on morching.

At BSS Vidyodaya in Krishnamurthipuram, starting at 5 pm: ‘Musical evening in remembrance of Vidu. Subhadramma’ – Guru Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy to be felicitated; Veena veteran Prof. R. Visweswaran will be the chief guest. Renowned mridangist Vid. H.S. Sudhindra will be guest of honour. It will be followed by a grand violin duet by Vidu. Prithvi Bhaskar and Vid. Krithik Koushik, accompanied by Vid. Nandan Kashyap on mridanga and Vid. K.M. Likhith on morching.

About SVSV Trust: Floated in memory of renowned musicians Vidu. Subhadramma and Vid. Venkatappa of Bellary, by their grandchildren, the SVSV Trust has been serving the cause of music in Bengaluru since 2017. The Trust has been organising a number of tribute concerts, a concert series under the title ‘Sangeeta Samrajya’ and honouring senior musicians with remarkable contributions to the field.
