Muslim Federation demands appointment of Administrative Officer for RMET

August 29, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru:  Accusing the Trust Secretary of Rifa-Ul-Muslimeen Educational Trust (RMET) of misusing it for personal gains, the Federation of Mysuru Muslim Organisations have urged the Government to appoint an Administrative Officer to the Trust.

Addressing a press meet here on Saturday, the Federation member M. Khalim Ahmed said that Rifa-Ul-Muslimeen Educational Society was converted as Rifa-Ul-Muslimeen Educational Trust in 1985, under which several Farooqia Educational Institutions are running. Pointing out that educational institutions were set up in order to impart education to community members, Ahmed alleged that now the Trust Secretary Taj Mohammed Khan has misused his powers which has badly hurt the running  of institutions.

Accusing Khan of mortgaging the landed properties of the Trust for his personal benefits, Ahmed also alleged that the Eidgah Maidan in Tilaknagar, which belongs to the Trust, too has been pledged with the Bank for availing loans. Wondering how the Bank authorities had given loans upon taking the Eidgah land as collateral security, he alleged that the Bank Officials too seems to be hand in glove with Khan.

Continuing, he alleged that even a CA site in Udayagiri belonging to the Trust too has been pledged as collateral security for availing loans by Taj Mohammed Khan. Claiming that Khan had transferred 4 acres of Trust land at Belavatta to his son under a Gift Deed, he alleged that now Khan has formed 200 sites in the said land and allotted them to innocent people.

Demanding a probe into all irregularities carried out by Khan, he urged the Government to nominate an Administrative Officer to the Trust immediately and thus save the Trust from getting bankrupt. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Shahad Rehman, Advocate Mudassir Ali Khan, leaders Azeezullah and Abdul Khader Shahid were present.

Taj Mohammad Khan refutes charges

Meanwhile Trust Secretary Taj Mohammed Khan has refuted the charges claiming that they were baseless. Questioning Khalid Ahmed on his contributions to the Trust, Khan questioned the motive of Khan and his supporters. Maintaining that thousands of students have been benefited by Farooqia Educational Institutions, he challenged Ahmed to prove the charges. Everyone knows the contribution of Farooqia Educational Institutions for the society, he added.
