Mysore/Mysuru: The polls to elect the new Executive Body of the prestigious Mysore Bar Association began at the City and District Courts Complex here this morning.

A total of 43 candidates are contesting for 16 posts of office-bearers, including the President, Vice-President, Secretary,   Treasurer etc. About 3,000 eligible Advocates are exercising their franchise to elect the new body of the Association for a 2-year term. The polling, which began on a brisk note at 9 am, will conclude at 4 pm, following which the counting of votes will be taken up and the results will be announced later this evening.

The election, which was scheduled to take place on Jan. 9, was rescheduled for today on account of weekend curfew.
