Mysuru city, which is house for many legends in various fields was also the house of famous cartoonist late R.K. Laxman and the city has produced a lot of cartoonists over the years.

The Mysore Cartoonists Association (MCA) has been established on Mar.12 with its office on New Kantharaj Urs road in Saraswathipuram. The office-bearers are Prakash Chikkapalya-Hon.  President, M.V. Nagendra Babu- President, D. Ananda Murthy- General Secretary, H.G. Nagendra Prasad- Secretary and Doddannahundi Rajanna- Treasurer.

The Association plans to hold camps and workshops to promote drawing of cartoons.  Incidentally Nagendra Babu, HGN Prasad and Rajanna have been associated with Star of Mysore  and Mysooru Mithra in the cartoon section.
