Mysuru: Mysore Kerala Samajam is all set to celebrate Onam 2026 with a three-day grand Onam Market (Onachanda) at the Samajam Community Centre in Vijayanagar, Mysuru, from Aug. 23 to 25.
The Onam Market will offer a wide range of authentic Kerala food products, handloom and textiles, handicrafts and festive products, bringing the rich flavour, culture and traditions of Kerala closer to people of Mysuru.
The handloom and textile section will feature a wide variety of traditional Kerala products, including Sarees, Set Mundu, Davani, children’s dresses for boys and girls, gents’ Mundu and Shirts, Lungis, Bedsheets, Towels, Pattupavada, Blouse Pieces, Frocks, Churidars, kids’ Pattupavada and Kuttymundu.
Visitors can also purchase a variety of traditional Kerala banana chips, sharkara upperi (jaggery-coated banana chips), achappam, Payyoli mixture, ari murukku, tomato murukku, ellunda, unniyappam, Nendran bananas, raw bananas, colocasia, kanthari chillies and fresh Kerala vegetables.
The Market will also feature banana leaves, Vazhakulam pineapple, Thodupuzha yam, Marayoor jaggery, a wide variety of Kozhikode halwas, Kerala pappadam and handicrafts.
Also Onam traditional jewellery and Onam collections by “Ley by Leya”, earthen pots, products from Ajmi Foods and homemade curry mixes, Kerala delicacies from “Janani”, including vadumanga, puliyinchi, kalan and variety of payasams will be available. The three-day Onam Market will remain open from 9.30 am to 9 pm.
