May 13, 2026

Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysore Palace, one of the city’s most iconic heritage landmarks, left the visiting State Assembly Speakers impressed with its architectural grandeur and rich history during a tour held last evening.

The dignitaries visited the Palace after attending the preliminary meeting of the high-level committee.

From the moment they entered through the ornate gateway, the Speakers were captivated by the intricate carvings, stained-glass embellishments, majestic pillars and the grandeur of the Durbar Hall. The murals and artistic details adorning the Palace walls also drew admiration from the visiting delegates.

Officials and guides of the Mysore Palace Board briefed the dignitaries on the history of the Palace, the legacy of the Wadiyar dynasty and the significance of Mysuru Dasara celebrations.

With tourist activity at its peak during the evening hours, security was tightened around the Palace premises to facilitate the high-profile visit. The committee members were received by Mysore Palace Deputy Director T.S. Subramanya and were felicitated.

The team toured the Palace’s renowned artworks, the Kalyana Mantapa, the Public Durbar Hall and the Private Durbar Hall. They appreciated the artistic brilliance, historical importance and royal grandeur, describing it as one of India’s finest  heritage monuments.
