Mysore Vasudevacharya’s house

April 24, 2018

Sir,

Very sad to read S.M. Rajeshwari’s letter (Mar. 27) about the condition of the house where the great composer of Karnatak music, lived from 1865 to 1961. At the same time thrilled to know that Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar ventured to give a performance there with students of Surabhi Gana Kala Mandira on Mar. 8, being the International Women’s Day.

It is a pity that Mysureans who claim Mysuru as the cultural capital of Karnataka have not taken any steps to preserve the residence of such a great composer. It should be treated as a heritage house and all efforts be made to renovate it on the lines of R.K Narayan’s house.
