Mysore Warriors announces team for Maharaja Trophy

Mysore Warriors, powered by Cycle Pure Agarbathi, owned by NR Group, announced its team members who will be playing for Maharaja Trophy (formerly known as Karnataka Premier League – KPL) for the T20 tournament. The tournament is scheduled to take place from Aug. 7 to 26 at Mysuru and Bengaluru.

The selection process was held at The Karnataka State Cricket Association, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, yesterday. P. V. Shashikant has been selected as their Head Coach.

The Team: Karun Nair, Shreyas Gopal, Pavan Deshpande, Vidhyadhar Patil, Nihal Ullal, Prateek Jain, Bharat Dhuri, Cheeranjivi, Shubang Hegde, Lochan Appanna, Shivaraj, Monish Reddy, Varun Rao, Rahul Prasanna, Nithin Bille, Aditya Goyal, Abhishek Alawat, Naga Bharath, K. Arun and Tushar Harikrishna.

Speaking about such an opportunity, Arjun Ranga, MD, Cycle Pure Agarbathi, said: “Each year the game gets interesting and we are overwhelmed with the response we receive from the players. The stakes are high with each passing year, our team has coached some fine sportsmen. It fills us with pride to see them play for the nation. And knowing how the game is celebrated in India, it is indeed an honour to be part of  the ecosystem.”

“Each player is given special attention and it is our duty to ensure to select a coach who will serve each and every player efficiently and help them to understand their own aims and expectations,” he added.

P. V. Shashikant, Head Coach, Mysore Warriors, said: “The team has entrusted me with a huge responsibility and I am confident that I will live up to the expectations. Being associated with a team like Mysore Warriors serves double purpose, the first being able to groom and coach some talented players and to be associated with the reason of bringing everyone together for the love of cricket. I look forward to working with the players and the support staff to achieve our potential.”

The team consists of K.L. Akshay as the Assistant Coach, K.L. Ashwath as Selectors, T. Manjunath as Physiotherapist, Irfanullah Khan as Trainer and K. Kiran as Video Analysts respectively.
