Body found in highly decomposed state

Mysore/Mysuru: Mystery shrouds death of a youth whose body was found in a highly decomposed state at a vacant space on the connecting road to R.T. Nagar at Lingambudhipalya here on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Chandrashekar (26), son of Basavaiah and a resident of Bidarahalli village in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district.

Chandrashekar, who used to sell watermelons in Srirampura area, had gone missing since a few days and a missing complaint was lodged at Vidyaranyapuram Police Station.

Police, who went through his call records, found out where his mobile phone was switched off and went to the spot only to find his body in a decomposed state.

As the body was found in R.T. Nagar, Chandrashekar’s family members lodged a complaint at jurisdictional Jayapura Police Station and based on the complaint, Jayapura Police have registered a case.

Post-mortem was conducted at MMC&RI mortuary yesterday and the body was handed over to the family members. No external injuries were found on the body and the investigation will continue after receiving the post-mortem report, said Police.
