Mysurean wins gold in National Powerlifting Championship

Mysore/Mysuru: Alifiya Vagh of Mysuru has won gold at the National Classic Senior and Masters Powerlifting Championship-2022 in the Masters 1 – 76 kg category held  at Bhadravati, Chandrapur, Maharashtra recently.

She retains her 2021 National position by beating her previous record lifting her personal best heavier than what she had lifted in all 3 lifts: Squat – 130 kgs, Bench – 57.5 kgs, Deadlift – 160 kg.

Alifiya trains at her home gym along with trainer Chandan of Rawbrick and at RedCage gym in Bengaluru under her coach Sujay Janardhan who is an Asian, Common Wealth and World Powerlifting Champion.
