Mysuru all set to host KPL from tomorrow

Mysuru: The city is all set to host the Seventh Edition of the Karnataka Premier League (KPL) matches beginning tomorrow after the action has moved from Hubballi to Mysuru.

The day-night matches will be played at the picturesque Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wadiyar (SDNR) Stadium and the first match scheduled is between Belagavi Panthers Vs Bellary Tuskers at 2 pm and Shivamogga Lions Vs Bengaluru Blasters at 6.30 pm.

The groundsmen are preparing the pitch using the pitch roller between the wickets and the grass on the outfield is being trimmed. As there are day-night matches, the floodlights are being checked. The whole ground is barricaded to prevent the spectators from entering it.

Two LED screens have been installed to watch the telecast and replays. A few students in the Manasagangothri campus came to the ground to watch the Shivamogga Lions team practising.

The matches scheduled at Hubballi for Aug.23 (Hubli Tigers Vs Belagavi Panthers) and Aug.24 (Bijapur Bulls Vs Mysuru Warriors) will also be played in Mysuru. The schedule for these matches will be announced shortly. The final is scheduled for September 6.
