Mysuru Chalo Padayatra: 72-year-old BJP worker dies of heart attack

Bengaluru: A BJP worker, who had reportedly suffered heart attack during Mysuru Chalo Padayatra of BJP-JD(S) at Kengal on Monday, died at the hospital later.

Gowramma (72) of Basavanagudi, was on foot march along with fellow party workers prior to the public rally, when she collapsed due to heart attack. She was rushed to a hospital in Channapatna, but didn’t survive, it is said.

Following the incident, State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra and JD(S) Youth Wing President Nikhil Kumaraswamy, paid their last respects to the mortal remains of Gowramma, at the hospital.

Mysuru Chalo Padayatra, organised by BJP-JD(S) in protest against Valmiki and MUDA scams, from Bengaluru to Mysuru, completed its third day on Monday.
