Mysuru Infoscions celebrate International Women’s Day

March 31, 2019

Mysuru: Infosys Mysore Development Centre (DC) had organised multiple programmes to recognise and appreciate the contribution of women Infoscions on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

The Infosys Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) team adopted the UN theme for 2019 — ‘Think Equal, Build Smart, Innovate for Change’ — which strongly focuses on journeys of women and the role they play as change agents to take on the world with their imagination and possibilities.

As part of the celebrations, Infosys Mysore DC had organised a hackathon on the topic ‘Innovations that will shape our future societies.’ Around 25 teams from Infosys Mysore DC participated in the 24-hour hackathon. The D&I team had also organised a Panel Discussion focusing on the theme ‘Think equal, Build smart, Innovate for change,’ where distinguished panellists discussed the need for women to believe in themselves to become catalysts for change.

They also elaborated on the support Infosys extends to its women workforce to empower, enable and encourage them to pursue their careers. The panellist spoke about some of the key programmes like #BackLikeABoss — a programme for women who return to work after a long break, an exclusive channel focusing on Diversity and Inclusion on LEX — Infosys’ internal digital learning platform and Mom’s Net, facility for effective integration of new mothers returning to work after maternity leave.

Keeping with the theme of female empowerment, a flea market operated by local women entrepreneurs was also set up. The celebrations concluded with an enthralling cultural programme that included performances by a group of Infoscions, according to a press release from Infosys Mysore DC.
