Political Science Department fetes Raichur University Special Officer

Mysuru: “Mysuru will always remain my Karmabhoomi for my introspection, thinking and professional life,” said Prof. Muzaffar H. Assadi, the newly-appointed Special Officer of the Raichur University.

He was speaking at the felicitation function organised by the Department of Studies in Political Science, University of Mysore at the Seminar Hall, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, here recently.

“When I came to the University of Mysore for my profession, somebody asked me what my caste was and I replied I do not know. Even as my problems and opponents increased, I did not relent from discharging my duties as a teacher sincerely. I have dedicated my ideology to the University and that is what I believe in,” he said.

University of Mysore Registrar (Evaluation) Prof. J. Somashekar recalled, “Prof. Assadi is one who believed in Buddha’s teachings and lent his helping hand to many. I am one of those who have been the beneficiary of his largesse.”

“It is good news to hear that Prof. Assadi has been appointed as Special Officer to the educationally and socially backward Raichur University. However, I feel that he should not have accepted this post but aimed for something bigger,” he said.

He will have to face several challenges to develop Raichur University. Prof. Assadi who has risen from the struggles of the Dalits and farmers is capable of facing any challenges, Prof. Somashekar said and added that there is no doubt that it will become one of the best Universities.
