- Suspected to be murdered elsewhere, body dumped behind hotel in Srirangapatna

Srirangapatna: A rowdy-sheeter from Mysuru has been brutally hacked to death and his body was found behind Hallimane Hotel on Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway in the taluk yesterday.
The deceased is Sahil Alam alias Chuvva (38), a resident of Mandi Mohalla in Mysuru. Sahil was absconding and had been hoodwinking Police since four to five years.
Police said that Sahil was involved in real estate business and was residing in Bengaluru but used to come to Mysuru, Mandya and Srirangapatna now and then.
Details: On Tuesday late night, miscreants, who had hacked Sahil to death somewhere else, had dumped his body among a bush behind Hallimane Hotel on Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway.
Police said that the victim was chased and brutally assaulted with lethal weapons on his hands, legs, stomach, head and other parts of the body and added that they had information about Sahil moving around in Mysuru and Mandya regions during night since a month. They have suspected that his accomplices may have committed the crime following old enmity.
There are many cases registered against Sahil in Udayagiri, NR, Mandi and V.V. Puram Police Stations in Mysuru and at Tumakuru Police Station and was wanted by Police in over 15 cases.
Mandya SP Dr. V.J. Shobha Rani, Additional SP Thimmaiah, Dy.SP Krishnakumar, Srirangapatna Town Circle Inspector Kumar, SIs Vivekananda and Anand, visited the spot, conducted mahazar and shifted the body to a hospital.
Srirangapatna Rural Police, who have registered a case, have launched a hunt to nab the killers.
