Mysuru Sankranti Rangahabba from tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: Rangayana Deputy Director Nirmala Matapathi said that District Amateur Theatre Activists Forum is organising ‘Mysuru Sankranti Rangahabba’ from Jan.13 to 17 at Bhoomigeeta in Rangayana premises at 6 pm.

Addressing a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan in city yesterday, she said Sankranti Rangahabba will be inaugurated by Theatre Director B. Suresh at 6 pm on Jan.13. Kannada and Culture Department Director Dr. Dharanidevi Malagathi will preside. Joint Director of Kannada and Culture Balwantrao Patil will be special invitee.

After the stage programme, ‘Soole Sanyasi’ play written by K.V. Subbanna will be staged. 

On Jan.14, ‘Kakanakote’ written by Masti Venkatesha Iyengar; on Jan.15 – ‘Kanviveya Hadu’ translated by Dr. Meera Murthy from Athol Fugard’s work; on Jan.16 – Prof. S.R. Umesh’s ‘C-Ward Cancer Kathanakagalu’ and on Jan.17 – ‘Parshwa Sangeeta’ written by Srinivasa Vaidya will be staged. Forum’s Suresh Babu, Subbanna and Haridatta were present.
