Mysuru TP KDP meeting held

February 15, 2018

Mysuru:  The Mysuru Taluk Panchayat KDP (Karnataka Development Programme) progress review meeting that took place at the ZP Hall here yesterday, saw sparks fly, with JD(S) MLA from Chamundeshwari constituency G.T. Devegowda, who presided over the meeting, questioning the authorities on allowing the Chief Minister’s son Dr. Yathindra Siddharamaiah to perform ‘Guddali Puja’ to various works in his (GTD)    constituency.

Accusing the officials of unauthorisedly allowing Dr. Yathindra Siddharamaiah to perform Guddali puja, G.T. Devegowda, supported by JD(S) ZP Members Beerihundi Basavanna and Madegowda, questioned the authorities on what grounds they had permitted the CM’s son.

Stating that the CM’s son may perform Guddali puja at his father’s constituency of Varuna, the JD(S) MLA recalled that the previous DC C. Shikha had issued a circular asking the officials to allow performance of Guddali Puja only in the presence of elected representatives of the particular constituency.

Accusing the officials of blatant violation of protocol, Devegowda said that he would move a breach of privilege motion in the Budget Session of the State Assembly that is scheduled to commence on Feb.16 and added that he would also raise the issue with the Deputy Commissioner.

Even as Devegowda launched a scathing attack on the CM’s son, the Opposition Congress Members raised objections.

ZP Engineer Jagadeesh said that the Government has released Rs.1.85 crore for the ongoing drinking water project in the taluk and the works on the project will be expedited.

TP President Kalamma Kemparamaiah, Vice-President Manju, TP EO Lingarajaiah and other officials were present during    the meeting.
