City Master athletes in the 35-plus category — T.G. Asha in women’s section and Vijaya Kumar in the men’s section — on Friday won gold medals at the 21st Asian Masters Athletic Championship 2019 being held at Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.

While Asha was part of the Indian women’s 4x400m relay team that won the yellow metal with a timing of 4:49s, Vijaya Kumar won bronze in the Long-Jump event at the Championship. Vijay Kumar had earlier won the bronze medal in the Triple-Jump event, also in the 35-plus category.
