Mysuru Winter Festival: Open Air Movie screening at Maharaja’s College Grounds

December 22, 2017

Mysuru: The Mysuru Winter Festival is getting jazzier and jazzier with more attractions being added. As part of the festival, the Tourism Department is coming up with one more initiative — Open Air Movie Screening.

Four movies including two in Kannada, one Hindi and one English will be screened at the Maharaja’s College Grounds from Dec.26 to Dec.29. Speaking to SOM, Tourism Department Deputy Director H.C. Janardhan said, “Earlier we had planned for a drive-in experience where people could come in cars and watch the movies. However, we decided against it as another exhibition is going on at the same venue. Hence, we will put chairs and people can watch the movies sitting under the star-lit, beautiful winter evenings and enjoy the movies.”

The award-winning Kannada movie Rangi Taranga starring Nirup Bhandari, Radhika Chetan, Avantika Shetty and Saikumar in lead roles and directed by Anup Bhandari will be screened on Dec.26.

On Dec.27, Hindi movie Airlift starring Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur will be screened; Dec.28 – Kannada movie Kirik Party with Rakshit Shetty and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead. On the last day, Dec.29, English movie Jurassic World starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will be shown.

The three-hour movies will begin at 7 pm every day and end at 10 pm. The entry to the movies is free, said Janardhan.
