Mysuru women’s team bags medals in Ironman Goa 70.3 relay

Mysore/Mysuru: Three women from Mysuru, who took part in the Ironman Goa 70.3 relay held at Panaji in November, have won medals and finisher T-shirts.

Heema, a national and international badminton player and her friends Shruthi and Zubeda took part in the Ironman relay. While Heema participated in the running section of the relay, Zubeda, a certified yoga teacher and a swimming enthusiast, took part in the swimming section and Shruthi, a national-level basketball player and a certified yoga instructor, took part in the cycling section.

This endurance event held in Goa after the pandemic was all about adrenaline rush and a good platform for enthusiastic athletes.

The Ironman 70.3 held in Panaji comprised 1.9 km open water swim, 90 km cycling and 21 km of running on the road.

The trio completed well within the time limit and got home their medals and finisher T-shirts.

Heema, Zubeda and Shruthi were the only three women participants from Mysuru.
