Srirangapatna: In an act of revenge, a Mysuru youth was allegedly hacked to death by a gang at a sapota farm on Nimishamba Temple Road in Srirangapatna last evening.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Shoaib (27), a second-hand car dealer and a resident of Ghousianagar in Mysuru. Those who brutally hacked him to death are said to be the brothers of Syed Sufiyan, a resident of Ghousianagar, who was allegedly stabbed to death at Ghousianagar in Mysuru in the morning of Nov. 26, 2025.
The murder of Shoaib is said to be an act of revenge over the murder of Sufiyan.
Yesterday at about 5.30 pm, when Shoaib was proceeding on Nimishamba Temple Road in Srirangapatna, a gang waylaid him, dragged him to the sapota farm, hacked him to death using lethal weapons and fled from the spot.
Srirangapatna Town Police, who reached the spot, conducted mahazar, shifted the body to Srirangapatna General Hospital besides registering a case.
The Cops, who have collected footages of CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity of the murder spot, went through the footages and saw the movements of the killers and have launched a hunt to nab them.
