Integrated Industrial Township Construction Scheme for eight City Corporations including Mysuru

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) has been designated as the nodal agency to implement an Integrated Industrial Township Construction Scheme for eight City Corporations.

This initiative aims to develop integrated townships near Mysuru, Mangaluru, Hubballi-Dharwad, Belagavi, Kalaburagi, KGF, Vasanthanarasapura of Tumakuru and Ballari. The Urban Development Authorities and the Urban and Rural Planning Commission have directed KUIDFC to set up a Programme Management Unit (PMU) within the organisation.

This unit will invite Expressions of Interest (EOI) from developers interested in establishing integrated townships on lands identified in the 2024-25 Budget.

KUIDFC has submitted a proposal to the Government to implement this comprehensive project, which includes both economic and infrastructure development, as well as technical and urban planning aspects.

To oversee the financial and developmental aspects, KUIDFC will act as the nodal agency, while the Commissioner of the Urban Development Authority and the Town and Country Planning Commission will handle the review of technical aspects.

The development of these integrated townships is part of a broader strategy to enhance urban infrastructure and promote economic growth. The project has received in-principle approval from the Government and is expected to attract significant interest from developers. The comprehensive township development plan will address various aspects and an improved quality of life for residents. This initiative marks a significant step towards the planned urban expansion and sustainable development of Karnataka’s major cities and towns.
