January 6, 2020

Mysuru/Mysore: The newly-formed ‘Mukta Oddolaga Vedike’ by retired Government employees residing at Ramakrishnagar here, was launched at a function held at Town Hall here by City Police Commissioner K.T. Balakrishna yesterday. Vedike members staged a play ‘Sampoorna Ramayana’ which was inaugurated by MLA G.T. Devegowda.

Speaking on the occasion,  Devegowda commended the effort of the Vedike in enacting a mythological play. He observed that such plays have to be popularised again which were the only entertainment in rural areas during yesteryears.

Sri Ilai Alwar Swamiji graced the occasion.

Writer Kalegowda Nagawara, District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna, Vedike President A.S. Nagaraj, Secretary Dr. H.L. Shivabasappa and others were present.
