Hampi: Hampi Kannada University is conferring the Nadoja Award (equivalent to D. Litt degree) to Sarod Maestro Pandit Rajeev Taranth in recognition of his contribution in the field of classical music, said the University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mallika S. Ghanti.

Governor Vajubhai R. Vala who is the Chancellor of the University will be awarding the degree at the 26th Nudi Habba (convocation) on Mar.10. However, the maestro is not attending the convocation and the award is likely to be presented to him by the University authorities in Mysuru where he is residing, according to sources.
