Nagamangala mobile phone showroom burglary case: Two Mysureans among three burglars arrested; Rs.20 lakh worth mobile phones recovered

Mandya: Nagamangala Police have arrested three burglars including two from Mysuru for burgling Sangeetha Mobile Showroom and decamping with mobile phones worth lakhs of rupees. 

The Police have recovered 144 mobile phones worth about Rs.20 lakh and have seized three two-wheelers worth about Rs.1 lakh, gas cutters, shutter cutter, cutting machine and other things used for the crime, said Superintendent of Police (SP) Shivaprakash Devaraj, in a press meet at his office here yesterday.

The arrested burglars are 25-year-old Kabbalu alias Chandu and 26-year-old Arjun alias Bajjaka, residents of Bannimantap in Mysuru and 20-year-old Channappa of Mantapa Bore, Chunchanakatte in K.R. Pet taluk.

During interrogation, the Cops came to know that the accused have five cases in Mysuru, two in Bengaluru and one case each in Ramanagaram and Mandya registered against them. All the three accused had served jail terms in robbery cases committed by them in Bengaluru and Mysuru and were out on bail.

The accused, who were released from Mysuru Prisons 20 days ago, had burgled the mobile showroom just four days after being released, by cutting open the shutter of the mobile showroom using an electric cutter and had decamped with 177 mobile phones, worth about                                Rs.26,23,287.

Nagamangala Police had registered a case in this regard and a investigation team, led by Nagamangala Circle Inspector M. Nanjappa, was formed to nab the burglars.

The Police arrested Kabbalu at Yelahanka in Bengaluru and Arjun and Channapa in Athibele, the SP said and added that the accused have confessed of more people involved in the burglary besides stating that steps have been taken to nab them.

Probationary Dy.SP Narasimha V. Tamradwaja, Circle Inspector M. Nanjappa, SI M.A. Ravikiran, ASI A.H. Peter and staff Revanna, Ravish, Haneef, Indra Kumar, Umesh, Siddappa, B.K. Kirankumar, Manjunath and others took part in the nabbing and recovery operation, the SP said.
