Naked electric wires posing danger in residential areas

May 15, 2018

Sir,

I would like to draw the attention of Town Planners, people’s representatives and the officers of CESC towards the problem of naked electric wire and the danger caused when they are snapped and fall on the ground.

I live in Vijayanagar 3rd Stage. Today at 7 am, one live wire came down leaving frequent sparks. It fell on 16th Main Road. It’s a Monday morning and there was heavy traffic of vehicles and pedestrians. It was merely a chance that no one came in contact with the live wire. After getting information, the CESC staff came and fixed the problem.

I suggest the authorities to replace the naked wires with covered wires at least in residential areas. It reduces maintenance and curbs power theft too.
