March 11, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: The newly nominated Chairman of Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) K. Marigowda has said that MUDA will provide required basic facilities to Government Schools in Mysuru Taluk.

He was speaking after inaugurating ‘Namma Shale Namma Javabdhari’ (Our School Our Responsibility) programme at Beerihundi Government High School in Mysuru taluk on Saturday.

“Namma Shale Namma Javabdhari is a good programme started by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who donated Rs.10 lakh for the School he studied with the intention that the school is provided with required basic facilities. Following his footsteps, I am providing needed basic facilities worth Rs. 2 lakh for the school where I studied,” said Marigowda.

Stating that both Central and State Governments are providing more grants to education sector since independence, he said that successive governments have focused on giving free quality education at Government Schools by appointing good teachers. “But most of the parents neither attend the functions held at Government Schools nor take care of their children’s studies,” he rued.

” Children must compulsorily bring their parents to schools. Schools are like temples and children are nation’s wealth,” added the MUDA Chairman and concluded by saying that it is his wish that the students of this school must study well and occupy high positions in the society by becoming IAS  or KAS Officers..

Retired teacher Jayashree Marigowda, DDPI H.K. Pandu, BRC Mahadev, PDO Ramdas, leaders Dr. R.V. Sudha, Vasantha and others were present on the occasion.
