Mysore/Mysuru: In a bid to promote sportsman spirit among teenagers and youths, the BJP Yuva Morcha, in association with First Move Trust, will be conducting NaMo Cup Open Chess Tournament at the City BJP Office on Devaparthiva Road in Chamarajapuram tomorrow (Nov. 28).
Announcing this at a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here this morning, BJP Yuva Morcha City President M.J. Kiran Gowda said that the tournament will commence at 9 am.
Pointing out that registration is done through a network group, he clarified that there will be no spot entries and only those registered (Entry fee: Rs. 500) will be allowed to take part.
Stating that the tournament will be held under four categories — Under-8, Under-10, Under-13 and Veterans, he said that the tournament is open for both boys and girls and there will be 5 trophies each for boys and girls.
Kiran Gowda further said that the total cash prize of the tournament is Rs. 20,000 and added that the entry is restricted to 100 participants. BJP Yuva Morcha office-bearers B.M. Santosh Kumar, S. Bharath and others were present at the press meet.
