Skill-training workshop for COVID frontline warriors from tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: The Lions Club of Mysore North Charitable Trust has organised a three-week (21-day) skill training workshop for COVID frontline warriors starting from tomorrow (Nov.28).

Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, Trust’s Immediate Past President Ln. M.V. Deviprasad said that the Trust is conducting the workshop in association with Manipal Hospitals and Skill India Mission at the Trust premises in Metagalli.

Pointing out that the theme of the workshop is ‘COVID care based skill development’, Deviprasad said that the workshop features training on soft skills, communication and development of leadership qualities.

Maintaining that the workshop is certified by the Union Ministry of Skill Development, he said apart from this workshop, another workshop (3-month) on employment based training too will be conducted at Manipal Hospitals soon.

Asserting that the workshop provides ample opportunities for the participants to work as Nursing Assistants in Hospitals, he said that the participants will be trained on lifting, shifting and moving of patients. Only SSLC qualified candidates will be allowed to take part in the workshop, he added.

NR MLA Tanveer Sait will preside over the inaugural function of the workshop at 10.30 am tomorrow. Lions Club International Director K. Vamshidar Babu, office-bearers of various Lions Clubs, Ln. V. Nagaraj Bairy and Dr. P.R.S. Chethan, Manipal Hospitals Director Dr. Gautham Das and others will be present, he added.
