Napanda Thimmaiah appointed as Vice-President of Meritor Asia Pacific

Bengaluru: Meritor, Inc. has announced that Napanda P. Thimmaiah has been appointed as Vice-President of Asia Pacific effective  Oct. 1, 2021. Thimmaiah was most recently Vice-President of India and Australia for the company. In this expanded role, he will be responsible for leading and successfully executing Meritor’s business strategy in Asia Pacific.

Meritor HVS (India) has a unit at Hootagalli in Mysuru and is a leading global supplier of drivetrain, mobility, braking, aftermarket and electric powertrain solutions for commercial vehicle and industrial markets. “Thimmaiah has nearly three decades of industry experience during which time he has made a significant mark on the industry,” said Ken Hogan, Senior Vice-President and President of Meritor Truck, Europe and Asia Pacific. 

 “During his nine years with Meritor, he has grown the business, strengthened relationships, and exceeded expectations for customer quality, cost and delivery. We look forward to his leadership of the company’s interests in the Asia Pacific region,” Ken Hogan added. 

Thimmaiah was named one of the Most Promising Business Leaders of Asia in 2020-2021, an award that recognises eminent, visionary leaders who excelled during extraordinary times. The recognition is given to leaders who are committed to creating economic renaissance for their nations.

Napanda Thimmaiah is the son of Napanda B. Poovaiah, retired Inspector of Police, Mysuru and N.P. Devakki. He is married to Sailaxmi, a home-maker and daughter of Madrira Tiny Parvathy and late Biddappa. Their son Kevin Kariappa is currently working as a Partner and Business Development Leader for a Fitness and Wellness Start-up  Medifit/Chisel/Miboso. Kevin did his undergraduate degree in Sports Development and Coaching Science at Bournemouth University, England.
