‘Narthana Sinchana’ at BVB on June 30

The Kala Bharathi wing of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Mysuru, has arranged a unique dance recital programme called ‘Narthana Sinchana’ showcasing the rare dance forms of Karnataka dance tradition at Y.T. Thathachari auditorium, BVB, Vijayanagar, 1st Stage, Mysuru between 6 pm and 8 pm on June 30. N. Ramanuja, Chairman, BVB, Bengaluru, will be chief guest. Prof. A.V. Narasimha Murthy, Chairman, BVB, Mysuru Kendra, will preside.

‘Narthana Sinchana’ will be presented by Vidu. K.S. Pallavi and Vidu. S. Ananya, disciples of Guru Dr. Tulasi Ramachandra, Founder Director of Nrithyalaya Dance School. They will be accompanied by Dr. Tulasi on natuvanga, Vidu. Dharithri Anand Rao on vocal, Vid. C.N. Thyagarajan on flute and Vid. H.L. Shivashankaraswamy on  mridanga. Dress make-up is by Mahalinga.

Artistes’ Profile

Vidu. Pallavi is the second daughter of Sunanda Murthy and K.M. Srinivasa Murthy (retd. DCF). Dance training was initiated under Vidu. Amble Rajeshwari at Hassan. Later she continued her training under the tutelage of Dr. Tulasi at Nrithyalaya in Mysuru.

She has participated in various events including Kishore Prathibe, VTU Festival, Intl. Meet at VVCE, Dasara celebrations at Mysore Palace and Sagaramba Festivities in Sagar. She has also presented lec-demo with her guru.

She is a double graduate in Engineering — BE (E&C) and Masters in Signal Processing from VVCE, Mysuru. She has completed her proficiency in Bharatanatyam. Undergone special training in special forms of dances such as Suladi, Perani and Goundali. Presently she is working as an Assistant tutor in Nrithyalaya and also is a faculty member in Bharatanatyam at Kala Bharathi of BVB, Mysuru.

Vidu. Ananya is the daughter of B.R. Sheshagiri and Shamala. Shamala herself being a dancer introduced Ananya to this art at the tender age of five, under the tutelage of Dr. Tulasi. Her father and elder sister both are flautists. Ananya has undergone training in Suladi and Goundali dance forms, which are the brain child of Dr. Tulasi. She has performed on various stages like Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions, etc. and is presently preparing for proficiency exam in dance and senior exam in music. She also has passion for theatre.

She has performed in Natya Ratna reality show organised by Shankara channel. She is pursuing degree in Food Science & Nutrition from Maharani’s College, Mysuru.

She has secured distinction in International Science Talent Examinations and won second price in Inter-College Science Exhibition Competition. She wants to take up dance as her priority and propagate ‘Madhurya Marga,’ a style of dance invented by her Guru Dr. Tulasi.
